Zipper Heaven! Last year I saw a Louis Vuitton clutch with ruffled zippers. I fell in love and ripped that page right out of the magazine. I stared at it for a year and then this cache of goodies crossed my path. I have been playing with them and drafting patterns and I can't wait to get one finished. If it works out, I will be showing everyone. If it isn't so successful, this topic will never again be discussed.
Don't you wish all your disappointments could be handled that easily?
I think I have this design worked out. It is based on the Edith Twirl Skirt pattern that I used for the Halloween skirts.
I really should have pressed this garment but I just pulled it out of one of Lucy's many bags. I think it has become part of the dress-up repertoire which means that it is Kid-approved. Yeah!
I also have a batch of knits and crocheted items ready to be felted. I love felting! It is like a little science experiment in your washing machine. I made a lot of crocheted flowers and can't wait to see how those come out.
I applied to be a vendor at The Crafty SuperMarket which will be held April 15th in Clifton. I won't know for a week or two but I am excited at the thought of getting back into craft shows. When I was 17 I had a booth at the very first Summerfair at Mirror Lake in Eden Park. I came home with the worst sunburn of my life and empty pockets. I did trade with other vendors but did not show again for many years. Later, as a young mother, I earned Christmas and DisneyWorld vacation money with a line of children's wear that I sold at local craft fairs and through a boutique in a downtown hotel. Neil Diamond bought one of my bespoke garments for his toddler son. So much for my brush with fame.
I figure I have about 14 and a half minutes left.
