I am quite certain that 6' 3" men in cowboy boots and gray goatees do not frequently drop by to choose fabric. Apparently they asked him what he was looking for and then the fun began. He asked for fabric that cannot be purchased in the lower forty-eight or has an Alaskan theme. Some of these prints are made by well-know manufacturers expecially for Alaska shops. There is a handmade batik, a floral with the state flower, and an Inuit design. My SUV (slightly used husband) has a thing for polar bears and I now have two lengths of cuddly polar bear cotton that will probably become pillow cases for grand-babies.
Like these goofy kidlets who are growing so fast that I just want to freeze time for a bit so I can squeezle them just a few more times before they are all grown up.
Back to fabric - these material girls also feature Barbara Lavalle prints and projects and I am keeping my fingers crossed that my SUV picks up a few on his next trip north.
Maybe there are a few more benefits to these site visits in the frozen tundra than just a little extra sewing time.
