I have some new bags ready for the shop. I am also doing some wonky strip quilting to make some zippered bags. All the creative juices are flowing again.
Tonight we celebrated this handsome fellow's birthday. I won't tell you how old he is because that just makes me, his mother, feel really old. What happened to that cute little chubby baby who spent his days chasing "ki- kats" and pulling everything out of cabinets? He was my first born and when we were expecting baby number two, I remember wondering just how I would ever be able to love another baby as much as I loved him.
Rookie mistake.
There is always room to love another baby.
Today I wrote a letter to an unknown birth mother. Somewhere out there is a precious baby who will become a part of our family. My oldest and his lovely wife are hoping to adopt. They will be wonderful parents, all they need is the babe that will make them a family.
In the meantime, two grandmothers are busy making wee quilts and knitting tiny sweaters. Without a doubt, this child will be as cherished as his father, the once chubby kitty chaser, my son, my heart.
